According to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, 750 people have been killed during the first five months of this year.
Karachi is the largest commercial city and business hub of Pakistan yet faces the security and violence issue for last thirty years. Every single day we get news from Karachi with violence, dead bodies, target killings and street crimes. The city used to be called “city of lights” and “a city never sleeps” but now it is known as the city of terror and violence.
If we analyze the victims of deadly violence, we shall notice that each of them has association with some political party, ethnic group, or some linguistic group. Similarly, the killers also represent some ethnic, linguistic or political group. The fact of the matter is, the involvement of political parties in Karachi violence is real issue. Whenever, they want peace; they just maintain the peace. Another interesting fact about Karachi is; that the major political parties like MQM, PPP, ANP claims hundreds and thousands of votes from their constituencies. If we calculate these votes, they cover whole of the population of the city. Then the question arises; who is doing all this violence and terrorism other than your voters and supporters? The answer is these activities are carried out by their own well trained workers rather criminals. They are trained to spread the terror among the common people as well as the authorities.
